A sleepless night + worrying about cake = this.
Ever had one of those 4.30am moments when sleep refuses to show up, and instead your brain offers you… weirdness?

Somewhere between insomnia and sugar paste-induced stress, my mind decided to rewrite All Things Bright and Beautiful — and I solemnly dedicate it to every tired cake maker out there.
Cue the organ…
The Cake Makers' Hymn
(sung to the tune of "All Things Bright and Beautiful")
All cakes bright and beautiful, Mine aren't straight or tall. My ganache has split again, Is there a god at all?
Each little topper created, Each tiny flower I make, It goes to shit at 3am, When there's so much at stake.
All cakes bright and beautiful,
Five tier or really small,
Each one has got something wrong,
Is there a god at all?
My client's due in hours, The sugar paste is cracked, The colours are all running, My sponge not neatly stacked.
All cakes bright and beautiful, Why do I get this pain? I'll grab two hours' sleep, I think, And then I'll start again.
My eyes have started closing, My hands, they ache like hell. The wine it is a'calling me, 'Cos that makes all things well.
All cakes bright and beautiful, Three days and little rest, We do this job for pennies, 'Cos it's the very best.
To my fellow cakers: you are not alone.
Much love x
